Old Masters, New Models?

Post by Alatar »

Interesting experiment here. This artist has basically digitally altered som old classic paintings to match the modern ideal of beauty. Warning: obviously there's a fair amount of nudity so not necessarily safe for work!

I saw this somewhere else and was quite impressed by it. Some of the Venuses (sp?) were much different, but others not so much.

I liked some of the old ones better and then I liked some of the new ones better.

The old standard of beauty seemed more "realistic", of course.
Dig deeper.

Hmmm, I found that annoying. :blackeye:

At least us well-padded women could look to the old paintings and take some comfort in the fact that men and society have not always wanted us to be very, very thin.

(And some of the paintings were overdone to the skinny end of things, imo.)
