Probably bad timing for this thread now :P but I was listening to some CSNY earlier, which I enjoy.

It's never a bad time for Crosby, Stills, Nash and the Canadian.

Edit: Also, Deju Vu, the first album pairing C,S & N with the Canadian, was released 49 years ago today!

I wondered whether to put this in the Geeks thread or here. Either way, it's brilliant:

"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

If you've ever heard of her, you know what to expect. If you haven't... I have no idea how to prepare you.

Ignorance is not bliss, at least not in that instance. It's just pathetic.

To be fair, they probably excluded all the many people who know what homo sapiens are.

It would be interesting to know how long it took them to get that sampling.

This is a... fascinating look into the 1950s. I kept wondering if the acting and/or dialogue was a bit stilted, or whether this was the normal way of talking back then.

That film was put out by Encyclopedia Britannica. There were a bunch of those 'public service announcement' type short films that I believe were made to be shown in schools. I am pretty sure they were scripted and done by 'real' people so they do seem a bit stilted and 'ideal'. I recall seeing one on hygiene that had to be ancient

Check this one out (not done by Encyclopedia Britannica) Body Care & Grooming (1948).

I was surprised that The Rolling Stones weren't up there (I don't like them, but I always thought they were a "big thing").
