The Last of Us

So, did anyone else watch? I'm a fan of the game, so biased. But I thought it was superb.

After much nagging and prodding by my son, who watched it when it first came out, I finally saw The Last of Us. I expected mindless violence and flat characters. Instead I saw an enjoyable, thought-provoking and yes, superb show.
Take my hand, my friend. We are here to walk one another home.

Both my kids are fans of the game, and both have watched the movie and loved it. I have yet to do so but will.

(Kids! Ha! They are adults of 31 and 27)

Playing through game 2 now because, in a shocking coincidence, the PC port was just released a week ago right before season 2 of the show debuted. I'm almost done (I mean I think; the thing has more endings than Return of the King), so I'm no longer too worried that I'll get spoilers by reading about the show. Interesting that they've decided to split the game's story into 2 seasons. No opinion on whether there's actually enough material to do that (though as I mentioned, it's a long game), but the fact that they did gives me hope that they've decided to preserve the game's "book 1"/"book 2" narrative structure, which I believe is crucial to delivering its punch, instead of taking the Jackson approach by intercutting everything. I guess we'll see!
