Uh, not sure how but I think I may have edited the title by mistake? Weird. I've renamed it.

Can one of our lovely Shrrrrrifs please move Sunny's post to the real thread
:)

Wait. This was a DC movie, NOT Marvel!!

(And though it's based on a graphic novel, I don't really see it as being part of the traditional comic book superhero genre, which I why I posted it where I did.)

Yov, you've just lost some of your geek cred! :poke: ;)

When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

I moved Sunny's post to the "Last Movie I Saw" thread.

Thank you, Voronwë. Definitely think that's a better fit for it.

Can't watch it at work. :(

All I see is a still, so now I'm curious. Do fighter pilots stop to apply lipstick before getting into the cockpit? A quick Google suggests that "conservative cosmetics" are allowed for women, but it seems a bit grudging.

I'm really, really liking the vibe of the trailer, but I'm clearly on the MCU hype train at this point so I may be a wee bit bias. :D

I have watched exactly zero of these movies, but I can contribute something that's only tangentially related:

I mean, I imagine that once Beowulf was done killing the monsters and dragons, he would have gone back to his day job too. Fortunately, slaying villians is usually not a full time job.

He did! But his full-time job was warrior and (later) dark-age king, so slaying monsters sort of fell within its purview.

I am not familiar with Captain Marvel's origin story, having read exactly zero Captain Marvel comics. Someone want to fill me in?

Yes, I know, google and all that, but I am sure there are others here in the same boat. He (now she!) is definitely one of the lesser known Marvel heroes.

I don't know much, either, Sunny. I believe she was an air force pilot (obviously) and then Kree (the blue alien race from GotG) happened and somehow she acquired powers and can fly and shoot energy beams.

At the Yom Kippur service today, the Rabbi used a quote from the Avengers in her sermon. I feel so validated.

I was actually worried for a minute that she'd use "there's only one God and he doesn't dress like that."

But no, it was Coulson's "we could use a little old-fashioned."

[sniff!]

It doesn't seem fair that Harrison Ford is still planning to do another Indiana Jones movie, while Chris Evans is leaving his very popular super-hero role while still in his prime. :bawl:

Man, I'm kinda surprised they're talking about this so openly as it seems kiiiinda spoilery, no? I guess the info is public but I'd still think they wouldn't want to bring too much attention to it.
