Spoken by a Dwarf, not in LotR. That kinda has to narrow it down surely?

It pretty much narrows it down to The Hobbit dwarves and Mîm, who I think may be the only dwarf in the Silm with any lines
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

Is it Balin in TH (ch. 11)? “The mountain’s sides were green with woods and all the sheltered valley rich and pleasant in the days when the bells rang in that town.”

(Because that's Aragorn's son's name.)

Nice to see some new blood in this thread!

Thanks Alatar! When I first picked this username back when I was 14 the similarity was mostly unintentional (my initial guess at how to translate the name I wanted was slightly different), but most people shorten it to Eldo in any event. :)

Here's the next quote:
We spoke into Eä was conceived without beauty and evil before, yet so good.

I'm guessing it's not from The Hobbit. :D
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Assuming that Eldo (I like that!) has stuck with the convention of going with something from one of the three main books, it most likely is from The Silmarillion, since I don't think Eä appears anywhere in LOTR or TH, and I can't imagine that translationparty could have translated anything else into Eä.

I'm going to say that it is Manwë, speaking in grief but hope in response to Fëanor's response to his heralds: 'Thus even as Eru spoke to us shall beauty not before conceived be brought into Eä, and evil yet be good to have been.'

I'm glad you decided to post here more, Eldo! Translationparty doesn't seem to be working right so I translated this quote back and forth between English and a few different languages.

View! Not related to the circle. see you later!

Welcome to the game, Eldo. :)

V, is this Bilbo saying good morning to Gandalf?

Was the original quote referring to the Ring?
