Re: BotFA professional reviews
Graham Young of the Birmingham Mail and Mike Reyes of Cinemablend don't seem to appear on the Tomatometer approved list, though they are on the all critics list.
ETA: I'm not sure what that actually means, since they both do have reviews listed on the site. Do you know what the difference between the Tomatometer approved list and the all critics list is, NR?

Re: BotFA professional reviews
Yes, they are both listed at the site, but neither are on the "tomatometer approved" list.
Here is the page with the Tomatometer approved critics that begin with R:
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/critics/a ... =&letter=r
And here is the one with names that begin with Y:
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/critics/a ... =&letter=y
As I said above, I'm not sure what that really means. Mike Reyes only has a few reviews list there, but Graham Young has hundreds.

I do not think it really means something. If you check their published reviews ,both names and publications match. I am sure they will be added anytime soon.

I see this as day of the old missing ones. The pattern is fairly positive today.

Re: BotFA professional reviews
I'm sure that the fact that they started appearing soon after I sent them the email is a complete coincidence. But it still makes me happy.

Re: BotFA professional reviews
Do most movies elicit such dramatically opposed opinions from reviewers? Quibbling over whether a film should be rated 7, 8, or 9 seems pretty standard, but here we have some people giving it a 0 and others wanting to go to 11.

Re: BotFA professional reviews
Not very often. It happened in the case of Interstellar though. The thing is that even critics have high expectations from directors like Nolan or Jackson etc. and their reviews are often based on more strict criteria especially when two critically accalimed trilogies preceded. They will never review or rate for instance Thor 2, with the same critical eye they will do for a Spielberg or Nolan film for example and in our case Jackson as well

Re: BotFA professional reviews
It seems to be not that uncommon - there were people who panned the LotR films. But there do seem to be some common cases. Big-budget SFX-heavy films can draw wildly varying reviews (Revenge of the Sith, which is a good analogy to BofA, has quite a few 5/5 and 1/5 reviews) as can, at the opposite end of the scale, avant-garde independent productions.Dave_LF wrote:Do most movies elicit such dramatically opposed opinions from reviewers? 2001 also had something similar going on upon its release.
(Not implying that BOFA's similar to that in any way! )
