It was always likely that the GOP was going to pick up some seats in the Senate in this cycle, given the extreme nature of the seats that were up for election. It was just a matter of how many, and several close elections seem to be going the GOP's way. But a lot of good things happened (not the least being Kim Davis, the Kentucky County Clerk who refused to grant licenses to same sex couples, losing her position). (Dems may not have been favored to take the Senate but having them actually lose seats during this supposed blue wave stings a hell of a lot. It does not give me any confidence for what 2020 holds.)
