I saw a suggestion that the Edmund Pettus Bridge should be renamed the John Lewis Bridge - I think it's a great idea.

Do those actually do anything except collect names for potential persecution?
I've been reading up on John Lewis. He was a badass. It is bitterly appropriate that the man who has been arrested and gravely injured leading protests left us just when Americans are being snatched from the streets in unmarked vans while voting rights are being attacked by all means available.

If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.
