I was hit hard by the Manchester bombing last night, the place where the bomb exploded was exactly at the spot where I used to collect my son after he had been at a concert at the arena.

Feeling lonely and a bit desperate I headed off to the most Southerly Point in the Island for some solace

this is the view to the south, the lump of rock you can see is called the calf of man

Apparently there was a spectacular display of Northern Lights Saturday night, seen as far south as California. Alas, I didn't know and was asleep. Did anyone see it?

Very pretty! The purple asters are a favorite of mine, especially paired with goldenrod. (And even prettier if there's blackberry in the mix in the fall!)
