Festival in the Shire Journal

Post by Voronwë the Faithful »

Some may recall that member Mark Faith announced several months ago a very exciting conference/festival/extravaganza taking place this August in Wales called The Festival in the Shire (see here for the HoF announcement and here for the full info. What Mark didn't mention at the time, and which I have just learned, is that there is an on-line journal associated with the event. The second issue has just been released, and it is excellent (particularly the interview with Tom Shippey and the article by Clyde Kilby, not to mention the interviews with Tolkien artists John Howe, Ted Nasmith, Rodney Matthews and Michael Hague):

The first issue can also be read at:

"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
