Bill? No. Shadowfax? No. Hasufel?

That's my guess. Hasufel.

Sorry CB, it was Firefoot!

Ok, from next round on, I'm going to stop looking for really tough finishing questions! It will be luck of the draw.

However, Ethel still has a go left in this round:

In what year did the white wolves invade the Shire, during the fell winter?

That's an easy one! It was TA 2911. I remember that because the numbers add up to 13, for sure a bad sign.

Hmm the answer I have is 1311?

Checking...
2911 The Fell Winter. The Baranduin and other rivers are frozen. White Wolves invade Eriador from the North.
Looks like your answer is correct Ethel, but we had agreed to go with whatever was on the cards? Thoughts everyone?

I'd give it to Ethel. She's not wrong and I believe the dates are consistent. And they didn't specify SR.

I'm not sure how much my opinion should count at this point (since I'm no longer in the game), but I have to agree.

Thanks, all. What a weird way to remember a year, I know.

Beech, oak, apple, elm, fir, rowan or birch maybe.

:?

WTH!!!

:suspicious:

No idea.

I'll go with rowan because I think those were the type that Saruman cut down. Maybe. :rage:

Pulled that one out of thin air. Surprised.

Well I am going to guess Bilbo, during the council of Elrond, was the first to offer to take the ring to Mordor.

After getting beaten up by this game, I've come to a couple of conclusions.
One, even though I have read the trilogy 30-40 times, there is a lot I still don't know. Two, having not read it in 3 or 4 years, I have forgotten a lot that I once knew. Three, it is time to reread it and pay closer attention to details.

Although there are some things that I will never care to latch onto. The color of someone's clothing or other types of small details get lost at times within the half million or so words.

Close enough CB. It was a spotted toad!

Joint 4th with Holby.
