Sand Animation - The Great Patriotic War - Amazing

Post by BrianIsSmilingAtYou »

Artist Ksenya Simonova does a sand animation live---a depiction of the Great Patriotic War (or as we in the West know it, the Eastern Front of WWII). The artist is Ukrainian, and of the 30,000,000 or so who died in the struggle, about a third were from the Ukraine.

The words at the end, I am told, translate to "You are always near.".

A poster from another forum brought this to my attention. I did not know what to expect when I saw it. I was simply stunned. A brilliant work of impressionistic, expressionistic art in motion.

I've seen it before, but thanks for the reminder. One of the most powerful pieces of performance art I've ever seen.

I don't know why I didn't watch this before, but I'm glad I did now.

Amazing.

Thanks for posting it.
