Nature Pics
Re: Nature Pics
The sun setting over the hill through the trees was particularly spectacular today:

Gorgeous!

Re: Nature Pics
It looks very wintery.

Nature Pics
V, I wanted to say that after having some chats with my sis about spirituality and the theory of consciousness (from a Vedic perspective) - I have a glimmer of understanding of your calling all the animals “friends”.

Re: Nature Pics
This is one my favorite pictures that I have taken - the meadow at Henry Cowell State Park

Lovely, lovely colors and composition. I'm quite jealous of all of the lovely places you have nearby to go hiking and all of the wildlife.

Re: Nature Pics
What's causing that row of blue trees in the background? Is that caused by the shadow of a cloud?

Re: Nature Pics
I believe so, yes.
Although we have a park pass, we usually park on the side of Hwy. 9 and walk into the park because that meadow is the home to many animals (most of the coyote pictures I have posted come from there). We went a little earlier than usual today and as we were walking in we saw a ranger vehicle stopped on the side of the road. We thought there probably was some coyotes or other animals that he was watching, but it turned out that he had just stopped to soak in the view. The lighting was really exquisite.

Wow. That’s an incredible shot. It would make a lovely painting.

Re: Nature Pics
Very nice photo!
I've noticed a bald eagle nest with a nesting pair maybe 12 miles from our home on my way into the city. I haven't been able to get a photo because it's right off the freeway. Very unusual for our area.
