Re: Nature Pics
The nice thing about getting winded when hiking up a steep trail, is the opportunity to stand quietly for 5 minutes, and be surprised by a gray fox trotting up to a rock nearby and curling up for a nap. (He was about 50 feet away, I had a camera with telephoto lens in hand.)

Incredible narya! As always, so jealous of all of your wonderful parks.

That's an amazing photo, narya!
I only ever saw a fox once, when one crossed my trail. I did see one yesterday, at the San Francisco Zoo. It seems a new trend to showcase local animals and not just focus on the exotics.
For example, here are two grizzlies lining up expectantly. A minute later, the keeper appeared at the top of the fake rock there and dropped bags of food for them.
Here's one of the grizzlies with his snack. The side eye is for the gull that was sneaking up and snatching bits of food from the edges. The closeup is from my husband's Galaxy Pro.

That looks like a nice zoo/outing.
While y'all are enjoying Spring, this is what it looks like out my front door today.

Lovely photo of Central Park Inanna.
Yeah, we got snow last night and possibly tonight. Not unusual for March or April (or even May). It shouldn't last too long. We've had a break as some of our weather has been warmer than average this year.

Rose, that's a lot of snow! At least it looks pretty?

Eh, 4 or 5 inches? We may get more on Sunday, but at least this time of year it shouldn't last long. Next week is going to warm up (relatively speaking). I can recall two times we had 10" snowfalls in May. Unusual, but it does happen. What really isn't wanted this time of year (or any time of year) is an ice storm.

I have no grand parks so I have to focus on what I can!
I was wondering how those of you in California are feeling about the mountain lion attack and if there are ways of preventing an encounter like that.

Did you lose all or most of your snow since you posted the previous picture?

Yes. I was above freezing and it rained hard last night and it's still raining today.

Re: Nature Pics
This hawk couldn't care less about the half-dozen hikers who stopped to look at it. My husband's jacket is in the shot as a reference for distance.
And here it is a bit closer.
