GREETINGS to our Newest Members!
In rhyming slang you take an expression such as "wife" and make the rhyme "trouble and strife" and then, when you refer to the "wife", you say "trouble". The fun with rhyming slang is, you DON'T use the rhyming word. "Stairs" becomes "apples and pears" and you say "apples" when you mean stairs.
Berkshire Hunt, rhymes with the unpostable c*** word, and you don't say "Hunt", you say "Berkshire" and it's shortened to "Berk". So, don't be a "berk"!!! as they say.
One of my best faves is "Bristols". Bristol City rhymes with . . . you fill in the blanks and you will recall, as well, that Diana Dors had a great set of Bristols!

Dig deeper.
All I can think of is Pratchett's Dimwell Arrhythmic Rhyming Slang.
So... why Berkshire Hunt in particular?
Edited to fix the Pratchett reference.

"What a place! What a situation! What kind of man would put a known criminal in charge of a major branch of government? Apart from, say, the average voter."

Because Rhyming Slang does its best to not make sense. At least that's my guess.So... why Berkshire Hunt in particular?
And my explanation for why it takes such pains just to result in the most unfunny joking I've ever come across.
but being a cheerful hobbit he had not needed hope, as long as despair could be postponed.

Cenedril_Gildinaur, welcome to the Hall of Fire!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

baby tuckoo reaches up to the person with the unpronouncable name and wants to be held. The rest of these people, C_G, are so, shall we say, unreasonable, and they don't understand what a baby needs.
On another topic, Partridge has confirmed Alys to be correct, that "burk" is just an aberrant spelling of "berk," an old word, and scotch and nordic and not so dirty, really.
"Aberrant" is on the first page of the dictionary. Two "r's", one "b", and an "ant." Outside of Prim, would you all have been sure? You, C_G? Oh, right.
Just put me down.
