See, I'm a student. I've been a student since I was 3 (I'm 26 now). I live on the academic calendar, so I look at fall as the beginning of the year, and make my New Year's Resolutions on the first day of class. Except I don't go to class anymore, so sometimes I screw up and make my resolutions late or early. I also procrastinate. Hence my arrival here one month into the school year...
Actually, it's hard to miss the first day of class. The campus becomes a veritable sea of undergrads, and they get younger every year. The chem building also gets overrun with fresh new grad students, who may or may not be younger than me but are easily identified by the shell-shocked look in their eyes. Especially after their first week of teaching.
