Ang, how concisely you capture the essence of those questions, both burning and unanswerable, that torment us and yet—and yet—can serve as the lodestar of a life, drawing us ever onward toward an enlightenment we may never achieve, but the quest for which, even if fruitless, enriches our spirits, unless the beer turns out, in the end, to be Coors.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Oh. My. Stars. :shock:

I forgot to warn Praetor about the baby.

:shock: :shock:

<gulps>

Mahima, I guess I should have given that comment a bit of context... I have teased Praetor before about words and such. I tend to notice things like mispellings and "great" vocabulary words, and I think everyone at work knows that... I'm kinda quirky that way. It may have looked weird to y'all, but I'm certain Praetor recognized being teased. He's put up with me for years. :)

So gimmee my beer back. :twisted:

Praetor: Tinwë is known for donuts and trebuchets. Yes, donuts and trebuchets. And he really LIKES the way Peter Jackson used trebuchets in LOTR. Yessirreebob.

:twisted:

Ang is known for... oh, boy. Monkey butts? Being Ang? I'm not sure how to describe Ang, actually. I think it must be experienced.

And I'm still not sure how to describe the baby. :shock:
"What do you fear, lady?" Aragorn asked.

Mahima always has the Beer. Unless until there is wine. Or Vodka. else Mahima always has the Beer.

There, we are now done talking about ourselves.

;)
So gimmee my beer back.
No. MY BEER! MINE! MINE! MINE!

And I'm still not sure how to describe the baby.
You don't describe the baby. You just smack him on his tush.

I didn't know Praetor knew the word "fulsome"!!!

I keep the big vocab hidden away until the opportunity presents itself.

Silly Baby. That's "Folsom" that you are thinking of, and it's where you will end up if you don't behave.

Ah, much better now!

Welcome, Praetor! It's great to meet Anthy's RL friend. I am not know for anything in particular, but I do know what fulsome means, and how it differs from Folsom.

EDIT: Just noticed Praetor's location. You've come to the right place, then. :D

And did I see Breogan in here just recently? You know, your art would look fantastic in the gallery here. Just sayin' :whistle:

:rofl:

I saw Folsom...thought of a very different "Folsom" than I was sure V was intending to refer to (though really, it would still work in V's sentence), and had to Google it to find other meanings.

I'm assuming that this is the intended meaning...
I won't just survive
Oh, you will see me thrive
Can't write my story
I'm beyond the archetype
I won't just conform
No matter how you shake my core
'Cause my roots, they run deep, oh

When, when the fire's at my feet again
And the vultures all start circling
They're whispering, "You're out of time,"
But still I rise
This is no mistake, no accident
When you think the final nail is in, think again
Don't be surprised, I will still rise

Very pretty words there, but you never answered the question. Anybody who expends that much verbiage ducking a question is hiding something.
Probably the beer.
Anthy wrote:Ang is known for... oh, boy. Monkey butts?
Plural?
Being Ang?
It's a thankless job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Yeah. Let's go with that.

But here I've been so distracted looking for the beer that I've completely forgot my manners. :oops:

Welcome, Praetor!

<Googles Folsom>

<cackles>

Ang, it is so like you to accuse me of evasion when I was merely philosophizing. What beer?

Welcome, solicitr! :wave: Please pardon this thread—it gets silly sometimes, I can't think why. :oops:

I hope you'll find much to interest you on the rest of the board!!

Voronwë mentions Folsom and the next thing you know, a solicitr shows up? :suspicious:

:welcome: anyway, solicitr. Hope you don't mind working for virtual beer and chips!
