Ooooh, Smaug would be very cool to have!

(I don't have much--a Minas Tirith model, the Evenstar pendant, a Lothlórien leaf brooch, and a small Legolas/Gimli on horse statue. And a few more odds and ends besides. I do have the One Ring, though. Mwahahaha!)

And please tell me you all have seen the Big Bang Theory episode where they find the One Ring. If not, you must. I really insist!

I have indeed. Very funny.

Here's a few pics of my main collectibles cabinet. Sauron, the Witch King and Sting didn't fit in there. Also, I use the Argonath bookends to keep my DVDs, SE's and Complete Recordings together.

That Big Bang Theory is one of the best LOTR parodies things ever.

I'm not excited about the movie. I'm sure it will be disappointing... but after reading this thread I am kind of excited about a Smaug collectible. :)

That would be cool. :)

After watching "Sherlock" last night, I can officially join the Wildly Excited contingent. Freeman was terrific as Dr. Watson! I can definitely see him as Bilbo. (Although I hope he'll be able to make more of the Sherlock series as well.)
Take my hand, my friend. We are here to walk one another home.

ARGH ARGH ARGH forgot to record it.

Off to see if it's rebroadcast.

Edit: Nope, alas, but I set the rest of the series to record.

I'm glad it was good!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Oh Prim, you MUST see the first one. It does a terrific job of introducing the characters. Perhaps it will be available online somewhere.

There's a thought. OPB might have it.

ETA: And they do appear to have about five chunks of it, each 10 to 12 minutes long. Will watch them.

Prim or anyone:

Here is Sherlock: A Study in Pink on Hulu.

Sherlock

I will say that watching Freeman again made me more excited.
The world is indeed full of peril, and in it, there are many dark places; but still, there is much that is fair, and though in all lands, love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.

Wheeeee! Thanks, A.J. I didn't think to check there.

Though <koff> I may be too thumb-fingered to see it and may just have to fly out to see Wampus instead <koff>. Because these things are <koff> important. Plus I have a couple of bottles of rather nice Oregon wine I think she ought (by rights) to have a taste of. Or two.

I think you need to come here to get over that terrible cough. ;) And I must say that I have always suspected that I did have a right to Oregon wine. I must stand up for my rights!

Indeed, madam, the right to wine (and whine) is not disputable <she said, looking around with barely masked aggression>.

Nope, didn't think so.

<koff> You may be right about the remedy, too, for this terrible <koff>.
