I want my quarter back! I really didn't need those five apples.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

I would like to ask for prayers for Lidless and Estel.

In case people don't know, Lidless is over in London, starting a new job. Estel joined him last week. A group of us (from various and sundry boards) had dinner tonight. Estel was there, but Lidless has been hospitalized due to extremely high blood pressure and chest pains. They first were just going to admit him overnight for observation, but now it looks like he will be there for a while.

Lidless' health habits have been bad for a while and perhaps this is the wake-up call he needs. But meanwhile it is not a good situation. Estel is staying with his parents...she is okay, but obviously under quite a bit of stress and pretty worried.

So...I am using this prayer thread to let you all know what is happening and ask for prayers and good thoughts for them.

[Jewel, I changed the real names to usernames where they appeared just to be on the safe side, since this forum is open to the public. (Funny how Estel always gets called by her username anyway!) Jn]

How scary. I will definitely try to send the best healing energy I can generate. Thanks for the heads up, Jewel. I sure hope that this is short interlude and that everything will be okay (and that Lidless does take this as a wake-up call).

Remembers that Lidless is about the same age as I am and thinks about my own poor health habits. Vows to eat better and get more exercise.

My prayers will definitely go their way. Hospitalization is bad at any time, but it's definitely not the way to start a new job. :(

Very, very bad timing. It's really hard to see two such exhuberant people laid low by a series of bad events. Things have got to turn around soon.

Needless to say, they're both in the prayers of everyone who knows them.

They will also be in my prayers, especially Lidless. I hope that he'll be okay and that he'll be able to get his life and his health back on track soon.

 to you guys!

Sending good thoughts to Lidless and Estel, and hopes that it will indeed end up as a positive change for Lidless.

Shocked and chagrinned to say the least.
Some fires just burn hotter than others.
There is too much life wrapped in that English bag for me to worry toooo much though.

My thoughts are going out to 'Stella" and Lidless:

Take a bit of a break, both of you, life is so very worth living at the slower pace sometimes!!!

I know we're all concerned and distressed, but can we please try to use usernames rather than RL names in this public forum? Even though Lidless uses his RL name a lot elsewhere, it's something we try to avoid here as a matter of principle (and shirriffs will edit where necessary).

Thanks!

Wow, how very upsetting!

Liddy had mentioned his extremely high blood pressure before, and I was concerned then... there are just no good endings with that particular issue. Hopefully they can control his pressure quickly and get him back on track!

Liddy, relax and get well, friend. You've had so much on your shoulders lately! But you have enormous resources of strength and character and determination... I know you will pull out of this stronger than ever.

Stellie, I wish I could give you a HUGE hug now... as hard as it is to be the sick one, it is doubly hard to watch a loved one hurt.

{hugs} to Liddy and Stella...
