"A Congressman Had an Affair. Then He Put His Love on the Payroll. Representative Anthony D'Esposito, a New York Republican, gave full time jobs to both his love and his fiancée’s daughter, in possible violation of House ethics rules." The lover's job didn't really exist. "The whole ruse fell apart because he also helped the fiancée’s son get a patronage job at the same place where the affair partner’s husband worked."

"The Senate voted unanimously Wednesday to hold Steward Health Care chief executive Ralph de la Torre in contempt of Congress, asking the Justice Department to pursue criminal charges against the hospital executive for failing to comply with a congressional subpoena. It is the first time since 1971 that the Senate has asked the Justice Department to pursue criminal contempt charges against an individual, lawmakers said. Steward, a for-profit company that owns about two dozen hospitals across the country, is engaged in bankruptcy proceedings and has been seeking to sell its hospitals." (Washington Post)

He had failed to testify after being subpoeanaed.

To be clear, Higgins has not been censured, and will not be censured. That is only a motion to censure him made by a Democratic congressman. It will not pass the GOP majority House.

Voronwë, I find that beyond disgusting. It's like we've gone back to 60's before the civil rights marches. :x
When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.
