Okay, I somehow missed this one... Colbert smokes James Franco:

When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

Roseanne Cash's tribute to her dad made me cry! It's well worth a listen, even if you're not a fan of this sort of music:

That was a beautiful tribute. Good parental advice that stands the test of time.

This is weird. I've seen other videos but this is the only one where I can hear both words depending upon which word I'm looking at.

Some of my friends are unimpressed by YouTube's recommendations algorithm, but as someone who uses the site for music 95% of the time, the algorithm has introduced me to a lot of stuff I've enjoyed. These are a couple recent-ish highlights:

Very cool. I did wonder where he got the planks, but that would be nitpicky!

Same place he got the plastic liner. 😇

I was curious as to what book he was reading.

About halfway thru it became clear he was going back for supplies, extra kerosene lamps etc. Which doesn't take from it at all but its not like he landed there with whatever was in his backpack for 2 weeks.

I'd never seen this person's channel before, but it seems he does similar types of projects with different types of dwellings. Regardless of where the supplies came from, he has some serious skills and I found the process interesting.

Today, the gods of internet randomness brought me this video of Chinese giant cotton candy flower making. Which is not something I ever imagined existed.

Oh my! That's a work of art. I'd buy one, but oh my, is it HUGE. :D

Frelga, the video I posted above about the hobbit house, I think the young man is Ukrainian. At about 28.18 he is reading a book but it is in some sort of Cyrillic alphabet. Can you tell if it is 'The Hobbit'??

Heh, no, not The Hobbit. It's the Russian translation of Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

Flight of the bumble bee played on a theremin, an eerie electrical instrument that is played without any manual contact whatsoever.

This guy is pretty funny. There's part 2 too.

Laughed my head off at this! From the British comedy sketch show, Walliams and Friend:

And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

I would have hit him a *lot* sooner! LOL
The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.

"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF
