Spoken by a goblin?
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Oh. I completely forgot that this existed. Honestly, the worst part of this covid round was what it did to my brain.

I wasn't going to give the answer since I had done the previous one, but since so much time has elapsed I will do so.

One of the goblins to the Great Goblin about Thorin: "He is a liar, O truly tremendous one!"
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

Oh, thank you! This has vanished from my memory again between "I need to get the book" and "why am I in this room again?"

Getting older sucks doesn't it? The only good thing that can be said is that it beats the alternative.

Well, yes, but... I wonder how much of neurocognitive damage from covid will be written off as just getting older. :( No, in this case it was very dramatically noticeable from one day to the next. It's getting better, too, which getting older doesn't.
