I haven't read the books but I hear they're very highly regarded. Its a good time to be a geek!

I've read the Hyperion books years ago before I ever got into audio books. Off the top of my head I couldn't tell you what they are about. :scratch: I was confused after I read them and didn't retain much except that the Shrike is scary and they jump to a bewildering number of locations. Not one of my favorites, obviously.

I don't see how they could make a good movie with that story without heavy adaptation.

That wasn't on my list of potential adaptations, because I've never heard of it. Would I like it?
