Without darkness, would we know light? Without war, would we know of peace? Without abstainence would we know of...

You get the point.

It seems like we need a few shots to be fired in order to want them to not be fired again.

Radiohead is very good live... Even without the contact high. I saw them in Boston. And, I might add, The Bends is one of my favorite albums of all time. Best live mainstream band I've seen was Tool. They made Radiohead's show seem like a coffee house jam. I saw Dave Brubeck play with his band in D....

There's something of a power... But, hey, our feeble minds can barely wrap themselves around the idea of an infinitely expanding universe and whatnot. I don't thing 'god' is a creator, the end all be all... I think god is a power or energy that binds everything in the universe together. I think I th...

Yeah, The Beatles... I have Abbey Road in the car. It's perfect length for my drive from Worcester to Boston. I was in Boston the other day, the other very warm nice day, and I was cranking "Come Together" with my windows down. I got thumbs up from a couple of highschool kids, a Jeep full ...

And the Beatles did it without drum machines and computers, which for me, gives artists more integrity. If a song sounds good naked, without some haze of the digital generation, it is truely a good song. I honestly believe that without the Beatles you don't have any of my favorite bands from today.....

I like Radio Head's earlier albums... Everything before KidA. I can only take so much falsetto and digital delay. It's funny, I find that Radiohead usually sounds like they are 'trying too hard' to create something different. Even Radiohead pays homage to the Beatles, "...bassist Colin Greenwoo...

Abbey Road... Rubber soul is one of my favorites as well. Do you remember what you were doing in the eighties? Well, I was being conceived. Regardless of what they were to people in the heydays, I still find them to be refreshing. They still have songs with enough musical edge to go up against today...

I am in a family that has had its share of experiences with adopted children. It means more chirstmas presents to give and get. I refer to my 'brother from another mother (and father)' as my brother and/or sister. You get into arguments, hug each other, cry, laugh... Infact, it is an allaround excel...

War?

I have always been torn between war and peace... But can/is it good for the world? Do the ends justify the means? Peace is great, but war ushers magnificant change in the world. I studied Francis Fanon in highschool, and one of his big ideas was that real change can not occur without violence. I was...

:agree: I am God. I'm just taking a break... I think we are all 'gods' of sorts. We all have untapped infinite power somewhere in these amazing brains of ours. What one of us does can affect everyone. Even inaction can affect scores of people... I don't know. I'd like to think that if I were God, I ...

Sin. Well, most of us like sin on some level. We throw sin around, like that cocolate cake was 'sinfully' good. Does that mean our level of enjoyment for that cake was sinful? No, I don't think the powers above would give us chocolate and not want us to enjoy it. Same with sex and certain intoxicant...

1. What religion/spirituality and denomination are you? I was raised Quaker... But I guess I'll steal Kurt Vonnegut's "I'm a christ loving agnostic." 2. Does that denomination have female religious (non-lay) leaders (priests, rabbis, ministers, etc)? In a Quaker meeting house, there is no ...
