Seeing the trailer of the upcoming film about Tolkien's life, I am hopefully optimistic about seeing a decent movie.
Who has seen it? What is your impression? Have you heard of the release date?
Howdy there rwhen! It's good to see you here. I know that you will make yourself right at home, as you are such a "comfy-type" person.
So kick your shoes off and have some Bailey's.
I’m kind of a LZ fanatic, if you can’t tell. You have excellent taste in music my friend. We should get along very well. I love both the studio version, the 30 minute version and the live version of Dazed and confused. I saw them in 1973 and had planned to again later, but Robert Plant's son died a...
After raising ywo sons to become wonderful young men (thank God for His providence), I HAVE survived and am having the best time of my life.....after age 50
Yes, that is very true! If I was brought up in only one religion, (when I was born, we were Catholic ;)) I probably wouldn't have thought about questioning anything. But being exposed to so many different ideas naturally gave me lots of questions. :) I was brought up in only one religion (if by tha...
My sincere sympathies go out to those who've lost loved ones. My heart is breaking for you. This type of tragedy brings the fact home to me that you never know when your last day on earth will be. I hope to live each day with purpose and let my family and friends know how much I love them. Meli
Thank's Voronwë!!! You're the best!! Athrabeth's words help explain why Aragorn is someone I care for very deeply. He IS Envinyatar, the restorer. Although not stated outright, you can see how Aragorn was "chosen" for this task of restoration. His Arnor/Gondor bloodline, the years he ...
For me, music first goes int my ears, travels into my brain and bounces around there for a short bit. Sometimes the beat shows up in the tapping of my feet, but if the sounds are REALLY good, the boody gets moving!! :woohoo: (Know it's not really "good", but "Play that Funky Music&quo...
Oh, please "re-forge" an Aragorn thread. It is my calling to give adoration and praise to this wonderful creation of Professor Tolkien. (I've got some funny pics and stories that would be most fun to share as well :D ) Boy, I'm certainly glad that I came here!! :woohoo: Meli
How sweet of you, Voronwë!! Thanks  !! I try. Several months ago I took a class at church entitled Discovering God's Vision for Your Life. It's designed to help you find your spiritual gifts. In one of the exercises, we were to list 5 people that we admire-of any time or place, even fict...
[quote="samwarg"]Well I'll be a horn-squabbled mule! Are you Meli from LA? If you are, I hope you didn't trace me here by all my old geezer parts that keep falling off. Say, that fellow with the sword looks kinda familiar. Didn't he used to hang out with a lot of short people? quote] Yes, ...
Thanks for the warm welcome, friends old and new!
It seems that my reputation goes before me.
Well, like my grandmother taught me, if you're going to do something, better do it well.
I hope that when you use the world "old", you're referring to the comfort factor of our friendship, dear Sam. ;) As for me being party-spirited, let's just say that I am a very joyful person! :D Sam's drawings are the focal point on one wall of my Middle earth room, where I spend most of m...
You've captured the spirit of my noble ranger/king, Sam. It's there, in his eyes! Thanks for helping me decorate my walls with things that are dear to my heart.
Howdy there Sam!!! Great to "see" you again!! I'm like you, Voronwë, I only see movies that I like on the big screen, and those I usually see over again. If a film is good, why not enjoy yourself again??? I guess it really depends upon your defination of "good". Meli
A prayer request: At the end of this week, there will be a spiritual retreat for folks living in coastal Mississippi and Louisiana who are recovering from hurricane Katrina. Living nearby, we know that things are not going smoothly in church, at home or at work for some of these folks. Please pray t...
