But your ilk apparently, just to 'prove' your point, just to vindicate your hostility to the US invasion, would rather see bloody chaos wreaked upon the poor Iraqi people. To you American failure is the most important thing: a pretty damn callous sort of schadenfreude. That's unfair, soli. No one h...

As far as solicitr's examples, I regard him as a propagandist with an agenda, based on my perception of his posting history here, and so am distrustful of anything he offers as proof of what I consider to be his highly biased point of view. Oh, fer gosh sakes. It was precisely because of my admitte...

Can anybody come up with similarly questionable material on Obama? The Clinton campaign certainly has tried. The best they have come up with is accusing him of representing slum lord Tony Rezko. But this accusation actually supports soli's assertion that the Clintons are perfectly willing to go the...

I'm thinking as much about her long service on the board of Walmart (a corporation with an abysmal labor record) and other corporations as I am her work with the Rose Law Firm. But generally speaking, I am suspicious of attorneys that have made many millions of dollars representing corporations. As ...

Thanks, soli. The Bill Bradley quote is particularly telling to me, because he is one of the politicians that I admire the most. (In large part because he never really was a politician.) Eru, that was well said. One need not be poor to sincerely advocate for the less fortunate. No, you don't. But wh...

Here's a good summary of the various different delegate calculations: http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/02/your_election_central_delegate.php It seems pretty clear that Obama has either equalled or exceeded Clinton's pledged delegates, but that the super delegates are putting her ...

Paul is as likely to siphon votes off from the Democratic candidate as he is from McCain, given his strong anti-war stance. According to CNN's latest delegate count, Clinton has won 625 delegates, to 624 for Obama. But when the super delegates who have announced their choices are figured in,...

Can you give some examples (other than the Cooper example in the article that I linked to)?

In preparing a reply, I think I figured out the problem. The problem is that the super delegates were not chosen by the voters, is that correct? So each super delegate is really just representing their self and their interests, rather than having been chosen because they reflect the view of a certa...

Just a minute here. Aren't the super delegates people, too? Shouldn't they be able to cast their delegate vote for the candidate they want? So if the delegate count is tied apart from super delegates, naturally the super delegates are going to decide things if theirs are the only votes left to cast...

Instead, by MSNBC's best guess anyway, they've divided the available delegates pretty much exactly in half. That's amazing, given that Clinton won most of the biggest states. I never would have thought that Obama would have been able to come close to splitting the available delegates without winnin...

Yeah, I guess "icy" is used more with women than men. I've never heard someone called an ice king! Actually, that's a really good example, because I have definitely heard "icy" used as a complimentary term about men (in the same sort of way that it is said that they have "n...
