I always enjoy being called the lunatic fringe. You are both idiots if you think that letter is reasonable or evenhanded in any way. It's astonishing that you are blinded to the fact that while the House has dug in, it is Obama and the Senate that are refusing to negotiate... as if negotiation on &q...

those prices are due to lack of competition and exploitation of the insurance system... something obamacare does nothing but exacerbate.

And I don't want to rehash everything all over again, you can find all these arguments out there if you actually want them... I'm sorry I said anything.

insurance companies did things poorly in many cases, but you always had the choice to NOT HAVE ONE. ETA: That is to say, with it all tied to the tax code, it's not just about what treatments you get (although that will be a big part of it, and far worse than the insurance companies), but also how ma...

It's not a sound organizing principle for a service that can determine whether someone lives or dies. Most societies prefer that their members live. Many people would argue that "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" are rights that can't be exercised unless people are able to be h...

I've thought about this a lot, but I find it a little sad that many people have a hard time with the concept of Heaven because they define themselves by pain and suffering. Without pain and suffering (and more importantly sin and temptation), does not mean there is nothing to do... nor does it mean ...

Also all of the Oz books (14) for 99c...

I think you can get all of these for free, but the 99c version has links and stuff that are nice.

Is it still a nature pic if it comes from a man-made source? It is a double rainbow, although it was easier to see in person. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/halplm/IMG_0451_zps145ff698.jpg This was yesterday... those clouds look amazing, don't they? :) http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b299/...

It has potential. I'm still curious if they're going to use any of the stories that have been written, or something totally new...

I expect something new.

The next movie is supposed to be Batman vs Superman, Lali, although that probably won't be the title, and they'll probably come to an understanding in order to fight a big bad guy (likely Lex Luthor of course). And Batman and Spiderman are like apples and oranges (Batman is cooler, but Spiderman has...

Anyway, as far as surveillance states and the Eye of Sauron go, it's an interesting point. Do you think Tolkien had such a thing in mind when he came up with the Eye? Or was he just thinking of what an evil overlord might do? I don't think he did. One theme of Middle Earth is that the evil and powe...
