Re: Rings of Power Character and Cast Guide
I'm a little embarrassed to admit I can't tell in all cases, but which are authentic Tolkien characters, which are invented for the show, and which are ambiguous?

Re: Rings of Power Character and Cast Guide
The clearly authentic Tolkien characters are:
Galadriel
Gil-galad
Isildur
Elendil
Celebrimbor
The ones that are somewhat ambiguous are;
Míriel (since she was never called "Queen Regent" so far as I can call)
Pharazon (to the extent that they don't call him Ar-Pharazôn, though I think that remains to be seen)
The two Durin's (to the extent that they should not be alive at the same time)
All the rest are newly invented characters, though "The Stranger" (or perhaps another character) may turn out to be Sauron, the Balrog known as Durin's Bane or some other character created by Tolkien. And most of the rest of the names are at least somewhat olkienesque.
