Today's Connections was rated 3/5 difficulty, which I find odd given that 2 of the categories had five valid choices (arguably six in one case), and there was at least one valid group of four that wasn't in the answer. To avoid those traps, you've basically got to solve the full puzzle in your head before making a single guess*. Or fail to notice the snares and avoid them by luck, which the stats show many people did.

I guess since the difficulty rating appears to be based entirely on the solve rate, it doesn't matter if you make a mistake or two along the way.

*There's a third-party UI that lets you mark categories tentatively and wait to formally submit any guesses until you think you've got it all figured out. I wish they'd add that feature to the real one.
