The actor who plays Lex Luther in this film starred as Tolkien in the biopic about him several years ago.
That's quite a leap!

I highly recommend the film 'White Bird' (with Helen Mirin). A wonderfully poignant message for our times.

Here's a new trailer:

Substantial parts of this movie were filmed here in Cleveland last summer. Their costume team set up shop three floors above my office in one of the rehearsal halls we regularly use -- most recently for our current production of Fiddler on the Roof (seen below).

In the Superman trailer, the romantic moment at the 2:37 mark jumped out at me: that's the Old Arcade, a well-known Cleveland landmark. But from the opening nighttime skyline on, the city shots, although supplemented with a lot of digitally created skyscrapers, are still recognizably Cleveland. Which, given that Superman's creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, met in high school here and first came up with the idea of Superman here, I appreciate.

The last movie I saw? A Complete Unknown.

Post by Snowdog »

The last movie I saw was ’A Complete Unknown’ which is a dramatic biopic (it is not a documentary) segment of Bob Dylan’s life from the time he came to New York from Country Hibbing Minnesota to when he was pretty popular and pissed off the folk music folks.

Timothée Chalamet portrayed young Bob Dylan really well, immersing himself into learning the songs and vocal style of speaking like Bob Dylan. His meteoric rise is showcased quite well and I give kudos to Bob Dylan himself for his involvement with the movie script and letting the screenplay show how big of a dick he was, especially to his girlfriend Suzi (renamed Sylvi in the movie). Silvi was played by Ellie Fanning quite well, but there was little of their story covered, likely due to Bob respecting Suzi’s wishes not to be involved in his life circus.

But what really stole the show for me was Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez. She too learned the songs along with learning to play guitar and playing it in the style of Joan Baez. The movie only scratches the surface of the relationship between Joan and Bob, which was pretty huge in the years 1961-1965, but the dynamic was captured well.
