Posting on behalf of Whistler. As some of you might remember, he decided to take some time away from HoF for medical reasons. When I heard from him recently, he requested that I mention his name in this thread and requested that he be remembered by everyone as he continues his recovery. Sending all good thoughts and prayers his way.
I won't just survive
Oh, you will see me thrive
Can't write my story
I'm beyond the archetype
I won't just conform
No matter how you shake my core
'Cause my roots, they run deep, oh

When, when the fire's at my feet again
And the vultures all start circling
They're whispering, "You're out of time,"
But still I rise
This is no mistake, no accident
When you think the final nail is in, think again
Don't be surprised, I will still rise

Whistler continues to be in my prayers.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

And mine. I miss you, my friend.

Many prayers for Whistler and his family.
"What do you fear, lady?" Aragorn asked.

A prayer request:
At the end of this week, there will be a spiritual retreat for folks living in coastal Mississippi and Louisiana who are recovering from hurricane Katrina. Living nearby, we know that things are not going smoothly in church, at home or at work for some of these folks. Please pray that this time away gives them whatever it is that they need at this time in their life. May the staff members be true servants and reflect God's love and grace to the participants and to each other.

Meli,

I will gladly include them in my prayers.

A very timely request, Meli. The people affected by Katrina are still suffering greatly, even though they are no longer much in the focus of the news. They definitely have my prayers.

For that matter, so do those still suffering from ravages of the horrible Tsunami a couple of years ago. I shudder to think what they have had to go through. :(

I will pray for them, Meli. And I pray that they will not be forgotten. So much remains to be healed on that broken coast.

Whistler is better but not yet up to posting. He wants to be sure that people know he still cares about this place and that he plans to return when he's able. We're all hoping that will be soon, but of course he's the best judge of when the time will be right.

Many thanks for your prayers. Though I don't know him, I'll include Whistler in my prayers as well.
