Ok, you all must be in either a. Europe and you're skyving before work starts or b. in the Southern Hemisphere or c. or you are a bunch of insomniacs living in the US. :?
I don't knows bout the rest of yous, but the time shown on my posts has little relationship to the actual. I suspect I could remedy this, but . . . .

No, Ms. B, we're not all in Europe, but some are. We're not all in the Southern Hemisphere, but some are, and their antipodal attitudes can be anticipated. Yes, we're insomniacs, except for Holby, who actually sleeps while he posts.

BT, you can change the time that shows on your posts to your actual local time. There's a box in your profile.

The board keeps Greenwich time, so to get the right time for your posts you need to set it to -7 during daylight saving time and -8 the rest of the year.

This doesn't affect the time everyone else sees. The board just converts your posting time to whatever time zone each member picked. Posting times are correct.

That's today's Hall of Fire Tip of the Day. Tomorrow: How to make millions in your spare time at home.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

I'll certainly tune in tomorrow, then! :D

Yes, Mithluin, as chance has it! ;-) Its as nice to meet you online, as it was to meet you in person!

And thanks to all that welcomed me here - I only peeked in as I saw Mith's name as the current poster - but I just remarked on Voronwë's Silmarillion thread after lurking there quite some time.

And Voronwë, there's nothing scientifically threatening about my nick - just my initials...

*whispers to Jny*

How do we introduce people to the ways of The Hall of Fire?

And I forgot to say earlier: The Hutter, yes, I like life, too! :D
And I liked it that you said that! :)

Well, we could attempt to engage them in Tolkien scholarship in Shibboleth, introduce them around Bag End and explain why we all love cats and horses, show them some nature photos in Arda Unmarred, invite them to weigh in on the Lasto topic of the day, wander through the Cottage looking for something good to watch or listen to, have them scan the bookshelves in the Library and post or start a thread about a favorite, and end up in the Grubb forum picking a shiny new rank.

Or, we could hit them with a fish.
