Re: Nature Pics
Those are some remarkably bold deer! The suburban deer in my area tend to run at the sight of people going for walks, even if (like me) they don't have dogs with them.
Re: Nature Pics
Today we also saw a male with a female (adorable velvety antlers), another pair of females, and a lone female that was trotting along like she was trying to catch up with us.
But the mom with babies were just too cute. People were coming out to watch from every house as they passed.

This is Beth's friend Lolly, just outside our kitchen slider. She had stashed her baby in the bushes and came by for a visit.

Re: Nature Pics
Maria, you really don't have to keep posting about how dangerous dear are. You've made the point before. Yes, some deer can be dangerous under some circumstances. The deer here are not dangerous though obviously if people hit them with their cars and can be bad for the car (but worse for the deer).

Hmmm... I'd forgotten I'd mentioned that before. Sorry for being repetitive.

Pics from the Jaipur golf course this morning around 5:30am. It was already hot!!
Had to take many many shots of this bird before I finally managed to get one. He just flew off in the second one.
The tree is the Kikkar tree - native to Rajasthan. Hardy, low water needing tree - Rajasthan, on one side of the Aravali range, is a desert.

Re: Nature Pics
Today's friend landed on this fence a couple of hundred feet away from me while I was talking on my phone and kindly waited there until I finished the call and could take her picture, then flew off.

Re: Nature Pics
These birds are amazingly unfussed about people. This guy perched by a sidewalk near a parking lot, and magnificently ignored vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians a few feet away.

Re: Nature Pics
I've not had much luck getting photos of birds. The pixel camera was highly rated but hubby's Galaxy 21 Ultra beats it hands down.
We recently returned from a few days up north. We were on an elevated ramp many yards from the fawn(s) and inside the car when we spotted the buck(s) there were two in each spotting.

Re: Nature Pics
One more. I am never quite sure what size to use to resize photos as the originals are quite large.

Re: Nature Pics
The general rule that I use is no more than 800 pixels wide. You could have gone a bit bigger on that one. Nice pics, though!

Re: Nature Pics
Beautiful photos, Rose. I think your deer is bigger than ours.

V: good to know. It was a helluva week to be at least a little 'unplugged'.
Frelga, now that I have a phone where I can download apps I really should download Tapatalk and eliminate guesswork resizing photos.
The deer here can get quite large, bucks especially. They are generally docile/skittish although bucks can charge/get aggressive during the fall rut (nod to Maria).
