A brown-skinned, short, plump Elf pins a sign to a tree on the outskirts of Lothlórien:
Looking for a new home: 1 bedroom flet. Must have lounge and be nicely decorated with artifacts from all the peoples of Middle-earth. Furnished, library, kitchen, pantry and garden suitable for the entertainment of travellers and friends. Broadband ready if possible.

Welcome, Silwen! Here is some dancing fruit:
And here is a llama:
Rent on flets is very reasonable hereabouts; I am sure you'll find something suitable!

“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Welcome, Silwen! I do indeed think that there is a place for you here, and I hope you will soon feel at home.
What a great quote you have in your sig! Yes, I do believe you will fit in nicely.

"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

Yes, the phpbber boards are strangely interconnected, and you'll never know where a link sends you!
The solution, I think, is to either not use e-mail updates so much, or not be logged in on several boards at the same time.

but being a cheerful hobbit he had not needed hope, as long as despair could be postponed.

Mithluin, how lovely to see you here.
I don't think our paths crossed that much at TORC, but I've always admired your elegant, well-argued posts.
We'll have to start a debate on Catholicism v. Evangelicalism.
Not that I am around much online, I must say. Lots of other things claim my attention these days ...
But I'm always glad to drop in and say hello to my old friends from old haunts.
