Elanor Brandyfoot, nicknamed Nori. Sheesh, it feels like they cut up existing names and rearranged them. The TORN guy forgets that Brandybuck is already explained in one of the Appendices. Like Halbrand, it's a mix of languages that doesn't make sense if you go deeper with lore. Maybe Tolkien would only scratch his head at the non-traditional castings, but the names would make him indignant given his profession and the work he put into his languages and names.

If most of the show is this kind of superficial remix then will it be it easier to watch? Better a far out, obviously unfaithful take than a "so close yet so far" one?

But the primary audience is not us but those who've only seen the trilogy etc. They won't care as much as we do, never have by definition.
