Interesting! These look like really nice editions. :)

I was wondering if the John Howe art for them would be new, but then I recognised the spine of The Book of Lost Tales, Part One as part of Howe's Morgoth's Forces before Gondolin. This has been previously used on the cover of some paperback editions of Part Two, which is the volume that contains The Fall of Gondolin, but it looks like this edition of Part Two will be using The Door of Night instead. That's also been used for Part Two before, and is a fitting choice, since it's a depiction of Eärendil's ship.

Anyway, they're both good pieces, so I don't mean this as a criticism, it's just that my curiosity got piqued. :P I'm not sure there have been any previous hardcover editions of HoMe that had cover art rather than solid color backgrounds, so this should be really nice for anyone in the market for hardcovers.
