The Lord of the Pants
...and Morgoth was straitly enclosed, for the people of Hador, being hardy to endure cold and long wandering, feared not at times to go far into the pants and there keep watch upon the movements of the Enemy.
There is magic in long-distance friendships. They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound.

There isn't no call to go talking of pushing and pulling. Pants are quite tricky enough for those that sit still without looking for further cause of trouble.

"Why are you waking?" asked Frodo. "It is not your watch."
"I do not know," answered Aragorn; "but a shadow and a threat has been growing in my pants. It would be well to draw your sword."

Sam would probably kill him!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

He wrapped his grey cloak about him, hiding his mail-shirt and stretched out his long legs. Then he lay back and sent from his pants a thin stream of smoke.

Hehe...that one's gonna be hard to better!
If you will indulge me...
'Yet our grief is great and our pants cannot be mended,' said Frodo...
'Your quest is known to us,' said Galadriel, looking at Frodo. 'But we will not here speak of it more openly. Yet not in vain will it prove, maybe, that you came to this land seeking pants, as Gandalf himself plainly purposed. For the Lord of the Galadhrim is accounted wisest of the Elves of Middle-earth, and a giver of pants beyond the power of kings. He has dwelt in the West since the days of dawn, and I have dwelt with him years uncounted; for ere the fall of Nargothrond or Gondolin I passed over the mountains, and together through ages of the world we have fought the long pants.'

'Well Saruman!' said Gandalf. 'Where are you going?'
'What is that to you?' he answered. 'Will you still order my goings, and are you not content with my pants?'
