And another new member to fill out our mini-Intelligensia ...

Scirocco!

(Glad Impy was able to reach you. Now the Sil discussion will really take off!)

Oh yes, tonight there is a choice of potholders, vintage wine from which the cork has already been removed and the contents tippled, and Door #3.

o'm'gosh!

narya! sylthian (of the great sig pics) and Hunter (of the astonomical knowledge) ....

Were you waiting long in the snow? I am so sorry! You all signed on at almost the same moment and as a result none of you showed up on my screen!

I'm going to have to break into the subcellar and dig out a few bottles of Old Winyards.

Thanks, Jnyusa, and Hobby and Imp for letting me know the site exists. So many familiar faces! I look forward to what develops with interest. :)

Hello Jnyusa, thanks for the welcome
Hunter (of the astonomical knowledge) ....
though I think you may have mixed me up with someone else. :D

Oh well, it really doesn't matter much as I'm realtively unknown outside of a few people who may have posted with me either at Torc or at B77.

Curiosity brought me here and curiosity will probably keep me here (I really like what I've seen so far) but I may not post much until I find my comfort level here.

Good heavens! This is getting worse and worse.

No, no, I'm saying the doll face unexpectedly framed in the potholder is like the disembodied doll's head in a dark corner. A little. Maybe.

I have no doubt Mrs. Whistler is a vision of beauty, particularly when bedecked in the conspicuous number of diamonds that will be required now that this board has opened.

Hunter: though I think you may have mixed me up with someone else.

Oh dear, I think maybe I do. There was an astronomer on TORC, who lived in Arizona ... ? She used the Éowyn avatar, and I think you did too, didn't you? That might be why I have you confused.

Cerin ... LOL, I forgot about the doll's face on the potholder. Her nose wouldn't last long in my kitchen!

You were thinking of Harvestar (or Harvi) as she is better known as. I don't mind being mistaken for her though I'd hate for anyone to ask me any astronomical questions. And the only avatar I've ever used anywhere is that of the blue cloaked wanderer.

My comfort zone at Torc is in the Rp forum (The Pony) though I love to read many of the other forums.

Hey hal!

Scirocco, I was mostly reading you in books, and I'm looking forward to reading more of you.

 did I miss anybody?

:grouphug: to all the new members!

And, if it's not rude to single someone out, a very special  to scirocco - so good to see you, my friend! :)

I don't think I know narya from any other board? Welcome nevertheless, of course! :)

Edited to add: Ath - *blushes* - thank you! :)

Hey y'all! Image

I don't know how much I'll end up contributing to this place. I think that I finished saying anything serious I had to say about LOTR a couple years ago. But I wanted to check out the new digs.

Actually, I do have one more serious LOTR post in me, I just don't know when I'll get the time to write it up.

Welcome, hal! I'm glad you could make it. I mean that

Welcome, Narya! Welcome syl! Welcome Hunter!

Scirocco, I have heard much about you. I am greatly looking forward to discuss "things" with you. ;)

Welcome Lord M. So glad you are here. :)

What Voronwë said.

:D

Welcome Alandriel!

Come on in, take a look around ...

Whistler will be along shortly to present you with a stunning potholder as a token of our appreciation.

:P

What do you think of the decorations?
Prim chose the wallpaper.
So you know where to register your complaints, eh?

Mae govannen :)

May a weary traveller enter and rest awhile? Words of much wisdom floating in the air have guided me here and the promise of bright lights and warmth.
It seems you have a cozy place, the decor (Anke's drawing) is exquisite, the company is excellent and you even keep a fine cellar if my nose is right.

Good to see you :D

edit: for I thought so long that Sassy got in before me :P
Thanks for the potholder ................... I think. Now tell me what the heck that is and what I'm supposed to do with it... or...... had I better not ask?

Alandriel!

I'm glad you like the place! :)

As to the potholder - er, come to think of it, it doesn't even look like you could hold a pot with it...

Just imagine us sitting down for countless hours and crocheting these things - (not to mention beheading countless dolls! ) - as a token of our appreciation! :D
