Re: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Nefarious! It's been happening all along, getting under my skin, and I didn't even know it.

Your remarks on the same film at the start suggest otherwise, though.Passdagas the Brown wrote:No, I mean the first film of the reboot "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."

I wasn't stating my personal opinion of the film at the start. Just making observations about its popular and critical reception.Smaug's voice wrote:Your remarks on the same film at the start suggest otherwise, though.Passdagas the Brown wrote:No, I mean the first film of the reboot "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."

Re: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Well, if you felt it was fun and thought it perhaps belongs in the 78-80% category on RT, I would think you thought it was a good film, not straight-to-DVD.I thought it was a fun movie that made some genuine, though broad, attempts at capturing something deeper. An 82% rating seems about right. Maybe a little high.
But your opinions. Fine with it!

SV's investigative tendencies are hurting my ability to be wildly inconsistent!

Not investigative. Just good memory over someone's opinions which I find valuable. (at times!)
