Don't know if this is the right thread to say it in, but I love your new avatar, Voronwë!

Re: Nature Pics
Thank you, Eldy! Best picture I'll probably ever take. Did you notice the new signature that went with it?
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

The colours of the bird against the blue sky are stunning.

Re: Nature Pics
Thanks Jude. The amazing thing is that it is virtually the first picture that I took with my then-new (and still fairly new) phone, after the first Galaxy 21 Utra that I got was broken and had to be replaced soon after I got it.

Re: Nature Pics
When we were in Chicago, standing in line for the observatory; a guy in front of us took a photo of the nearly-full moon with his phone. I saw him take it and he could see the CRaTERs of the moon. The craters. It was incredible. He told me it was the Galaxy S22 Ultra. That’s yours too, V? Right?

Cormorants are so cool!
Their feathers are not oiled to make them waterproof like most water fowl. They bomb dive and then sit there drying out, with their wings spread like that.

If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Re: Nature Pics
It's October (nearing Halloween)..so.. creepy is in order.. right?
I was cleaning out a flower bed when I was startled by.. these. I didn't take a photo yesterday (when they looked even creepier). They've shriveled a bit and aren't quite as.. fleshy looking.
Dead Mans Fingers fungus. One even looks like it has a claw/nail at the tip. Unfortunately my phone camera does not focus well. Not happy with Pixel 6 camera.

There are parts of Canada that are warmer than we are. I agree, it's not fair!!

Oh, irika has been wishing for early snow! I’m not keen on it, but she will be happy if some of it comes our way.
